Apple Nacho Bar Ideas For Parties

Apple Nacho Bar

Ingredients

  • Crisp apples (Honeycrisp, Gala, Fuji, Pink Lady, or Granny Smith), sliced
  • Lemon juice or water + honey (to prevent browning)
  • Caramel sauce
  • Chocolate sauce or melted magic shell
  • Peanut butter or almond butter (thinned with honey for drizzling)
  • Marshmallow fluff or melted marshmallows with butter
  • Mini chocolate chips
  • Mini M&M's or candy corn
  • Chopped nuts (peanuts, pecans, walnuts, almonds)
  • Crushed pretzels (chocolate-covered for bonus points)
  • Toffee bits, sprinkles, or shredded coconut
  • Crushed candy bars (Snickers, Reese's, Rolos)
  • Dried cranberries or raisins
  • Granola
  • Mini marshmallows

Instructions

  1. Slice the apples using a slicer/corer for speed, or a knife.
  2. Prevent browning by dunking slices in a bowl of cold water with lemon juice, or a mix of water and honey; soak briefly, then drain and pat dry.
  3. Arrange the apple slices on a large platter or board.
  4. Put each topping and sauce into small individual bowls or pinch bowls around the platter.
  5. Warm the caramel and chocolate sauces slightly so they're pourable (a mini fondue pot, warming dish, or slow cooker on low keeps them from hardening during the party).
  6. Let guests build their own plate — piling apple slices and drizzling/sprinkling their favorite toppings on top.
  7. Serve immediately, since apple nachos taste best fresh; if prepping ahead, slice apples in advance and keep them submerged in the lemon/honey water until right before serving.
